Many tie down straps on the market have "shallow S" type hooks. You don't want them to dislodge if a load shifts, so our coated hooks have very deep bends, a safety feature, ensuring that the straps have to be loosened before they fall away from their connection points.Soft loops are standard in our kit because there are places where hooks can't go, such as handlebars, forks, and swing arms etc, and no amount of "rubber coating" will stop scratches or pressure marks to the surfaces of more fragile cargo or goods that need to be treated with special care in transit. As outdoor enthusiasts, our experience is that soft loops are essential.
