From the Author The inspiration for this story was the poem "The Song of Wandering Aengus" by W.B. Yeats, which is one of my favorite classic Irish poems. In it, a magical being, a little silver trout, turns into a girl with apple blossoms in her hair, and she disappears into the morning light to be forever pursued by the man who witnessed this amazing transformation. I wrote the song "Dream River Flows All Around" as a tribute to my dad, who often sang to me as a child, and it is one of my fondest memories of childhood. One of the songs I remember him singing was the folk song "Green Grass Grows All Around," which inspired the song I wrote, and it is set to the same tune.
