The story covers Luther's vow to become a monk, his studies, the 95 theses, his appearance before the Holy Roman Emperor, his escape to Wartburg Castle following the Edict of Worms (a phrase that does not appear in the text), and his translation of the Bible into German. Each page features a paragraph accompanied by colorful cartoon-style illustrations. The heavy paper stock and simple, sturdy paper engineering will stand up to a fair amount of use. Given the scarcity of biographies on Luther, especially at this level, some large libraries may wish to add this volume. However, the lack of back matter makes it a poor choice for research or report writing. Furthermore, information on the life of Luther is presented without nuance or balance, and the title is clearly intended as a tool for religious instruction: "Even today, Christians reform the church as we read the Bible, listen to the Holy Spirit, and follow Jesus in faith."
