About TAOindustry Tear Away Machine Embroidery Stabilizer

RATED #1 DESIGNER'S CHOICE: Highly recommended for both the beginner as well as the professional. It is not messy and it is much easier to use than World Weidner Cut Away Roll, Washing Water Soluble Away, or Heat Cutaway. QUESTION: How do you use it? Is it iron-on? ANSWER: This is a fibrous paper product that is stretched in your embroidery hoop under the fabric you want to embroider on. This provides a stiffness to the fabric to keep your stitches tight and clean. When you are done this backing is ripped away. This isn't ironed on and is meant to be removed from your fabric when you are done working. QUESTION: I am doing hand embroidery I wish to frame as a wall hanging when finished. What kind of backing do I need when embroidering?ANSWER: I've been hand embroidering for almost 60 years, and I've never used a stabilizer as a backing. There is a foam board that sticks to the back of your design. I would advise using that, it also helps when you frame it. This stabilizer is for use with machine embroidery which can have thousands of stitches in just a few square inches. Without stabilizer, the heavy stitching causes the fabric to distort. Really heavy machine embroidery can at times require two layers of this kind of stabilizer. QUESTION: I need a stabilizer that an hold up to heavy machine embroidery and design embroidery?ANSWER: This is very heavy weight but squares are for a small hoop 4x4" QUESTION: Amazon is recommending that I buy this with my new sewing machine. I am a brand new beginner. Can someone tell me what I may need this for?Answer 4: If you are purchasing a new embroidery machine this is a stabilizer for your designs. If you are puchasing a regular sewing machine simply ignore.
