The thumb screw has a large easy-to-grip head that’s good when you have to frequently adjust the screw’s tightness. The screw’s head is made from black plastic and has a straight knurled surface that makes it easier to tighten or loosen by hand. The screw body is made from plain steel, which provides economical strength where corrosion resistance is not required. A threaded fastener's size name includes information about the major external diameter, followed by the threads per inch, which indicates if it is coarse or fine.
