About Starrett 162A Pin Vise Tool – Holds
The Starrett 162A Pin Vise is a tool holding device that allows small tools to be held in place with positive acting jaws with interchangeability. This model holds workpieces up to 0.040" (1 mm) in diameter, and has a nickel-plated handle and binding nut to offer durability and wear-resistance. The tapered collet provides maximum clamping surface. This vise has a 1-11/16" handle length, 3/16" handle diameter, and 3" overall length (with chuck closed). The body diameter is smaller than the chuck to enable faster opening and closing of the chuck and faster rotation when working on small workpieces. Knurled rings and handle give the user a secure grip. The L.S. Starrett Company manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology and testing equipment, and saw blade products. The company, founded in 1880, is headquartered in Athol, MA.
