About Slofoodgroup - Madagascar Vanilla Beans - Extract

PLEASE READ PRODUCT DESCRIPTION prior to making a purchase to best understand the product you are purchasing. This listing is for extraction grade vanilla beans from Madagascar by SLOFOODGROUP. Each vanilla beans has an average size of 12-16 cm and a moisture content of 24-27 percent Vanilla beans can contain splits and other imperfections as is common for this grade of vanilla bean. These Grade B vanilla beans are for making homemade vanilla extract or other craft brewing. These beans are not Gourmet Vanilla beans nor intend to be used as or in place of gourmet vanilla beans. If you are looking for gourmet vanilla beans from Madagascar please see our other listings for Grade A Vanilla From Madagascar. A NOTE ABOUT VANILLA BEANS FOR PURCHASING BY WEIGHT: VANILLA BEANS ARE AN AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT THAT VARY IN SHAPE AND SIZE. FOR WEIGHTED VARIATIONS THIS MAY MEAN MUCH LONGER THAN THE AVERAGE SIZE VANILLA BEANS THAN VARIATIONS SOLD BY THE EACH AND THEREFORE THERE MAY CONTAIN LESS OF A COUNT OF VANILLA THAN YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BUT IT IS NOT LESS VANILLA BECAUSE OF THIS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF VANILLA BEANS, PLEASE PURCHASE BY THE EACH TO ENSURE YOU RECEIVE THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF VANILLA YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. Grade B vanilla beans will have a variegated color due to lower moisture than a Grade A vanilla beans. Due to this lower moisture content Extract grade vanilla beans are also less pliable than Gourmet grade vanilla beans but many times more stable for long term storage. FOR BEST RESULTS chop vanilla beans into .25-.5 in pieces. We recommend a minimum of .83 ounce of vanilla for every 8 ounces of liquid. From our best estimates this is on average 5-8 vanilla beans from this listing. Shake often and allow to properly age for a minimum of 45-90 days. Filter lightly and enjoy in your favorite baking recipes.
