About Slice 10523 Utility Blade, Serrated Edge, Never
Compatible with several Slice tools, such as our metal-handle utility knives and mini scrapers, our Utility Blades (Serrated), are manufactured differently than traditional metal blades. Slice safety blades are created using our proprietary double-angle grind that results in our finger-friendly blade edge. This edge cuts effectively, lasts up to 11 times longer than metal blades, and is much safer to touch than any standard blade (regardless of whether it’s metal or ceramic). This patent-pending grind makes our blades true safety blades. By reducing the area of the blade that actually does the cutting, when our safety blades contact the skin, they push the skin away from the blade, rather than piercing it, the way a traditional metal or ceramic blade would. Remember though, these blades are designed to cut, and with enough force, they can cut skin, too. One touch of our safety blades edges, and you’ll understand the Slice difference. The blade may feel dull to the touch, but that’s the intentionally designed source of its safety. Use the blade to cut something. You’ll quickly see that what felt dull to the touch is exactly as sharp as it needs to be to cut a wide variety of materials. Choose the appropriate handle based on your need to lock the blade in place during cutting. The Manual Metal-Handle Utility Knife (10490) locks the blade in place, while the auto-retractable handle (10491) provides the additional safety of auto-retraction when the blade-engaging slider is released.
