About Simpson Strong-Tie DSVI32 4X4 Post Cap Base
The BC series offers dual purpose post cap/base for light cap or base connections. Do not install bolts into pilot holes. Install with 16D Common Nails or 16D x 2-1/2" Joist hanger nails. Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and are not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports). 18-gauge galvanized steel. Some sizes available in ZMax coating.
