About Shadowcatcher: American Music For Brass, Winds And

Jean-Christophe Dobrzelewski, Project Director Jean-Christophe Dobrzelewski currently teaches trumpet at West Chester University School of Music and is an active freelancer in the Philadelphia area. Having been raised in both Costa Rica and Switzerland, he regularly appears as guest artist and clinician throughout Europe, Central America and the United States. Dobrzelewski is the founder of the West Chester University Chapter of the International Trumpet Guild and the WCU Annual International Trumpet Festival. A prolific grant writer, Dobrzelewski has been awarded numerous grants to pursue musical projects, including this recording, which was partially funded by the NEA Access to Artistic Excellence. Dobrzelewski received a Prix de Trompette at the Conservatoire de Musique de Rueil-Malmaison in Paris, a Master of Music from the University of Maine and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Arizona State University, all in the area of trumpet performance. Dobrzelewski is a Yamaha Performing Artist and Clinician. Andrew Yozviak, Director of Bands Andrew Yozviak is the Director of Bands at West Chester University, where his primary responsibilities include conducting the Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds, directing the Golden Rams Marching Band and teaching undergraduate and graduate conducting classes. Dr. Yozviak has earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from West Chester University, a Master of Music in Composition from Indiana University, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Wind Conducting from Rutgers University where he studied with William Berz. Dr. Yozviak maintains a busy schedule as a guest conductor, adjudicator and clinician, regularly presenting at conferences and workshops. His research in the area of eighteenth century Harmoniemusik has produced two modern editions of wind partitas by the Bohemian composer, Antonio Rosetti (1750-1792). His scholarly edition of Rosetti's Partita in E-flat is published by Amadeus Verlag.
