About Shadoan Reaches
"Reaches" is the prequel to Kingdom II Shadoan. You are Lathan Kandor, the hero of Shadoan who has been sent back in time. Your goal is to collect three relics that make up a magic amulet, which you will use to free the kidnaped Princess Grace Delight from the evil wizard Drakesblood. You're an inexperienced apprentice, but you're not alone in the world. You have some help from the good wizard Daelon, who provides spells; artifacts and objects which you pick up along the way; and the characters with whom you'll interact during your travels. The game is wonderfully similar to "Dragon's Lair" but with a more effective plot and some random events. There is the same type of interaction, where the player is forced to select from a limited range of events in order to remain in the designer's storyline. The plot can be labyrinthine, but it comes with the strategy guide. It was published separately, but bundled here in this edition.
