It features 15x magnification and is UV/LED illuminated. If you are examining gemstones and minerals, you will be able to detect florescence with the ultraviolet light (UV). UV light can also help classify stones such as diamonds that do not fluoresce, as non-diamonds and fluorescence is also a way to detect heat treated stones. LEDs emit bright light that reveal the brilliance of each stone for fine detailed work. This is great for craftwork, fine detailed work, jewelers, watches, inspecting antique markings, coins, and many other items that require magnification to identify and view detail. There is unlimited use for UV specific documents, ink, gems, minerals, stones and more. This loupe has a plastic body and a metal swing-away cover. This product also includes a plastic storage case and a small loop to attach to a neck or keychain. It requires 3 AG10 batteries (batteries are included). A battery cover removal tool is included.
