About Science First Trippensee Elementary Planetarium

This fun and exciting education model provides students with hands-on experience studying a working model of the sun, earth, and moon. The earth and moon can be moved separately while a chain-and-gear-driven arm maintains the Earth's north-pointing axis. Plug the model into a standard wall outlet to illuminate the sun. The lighted sun directs a beam of light at the earth for exploring the basic relationships of rotation and revolution with night and day, seasons, phases of the moon, tides, lunar and solar eclipses, and the locations of the signs of the zodiac. A set of instructions are included. Science education products and manipulatives incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom or homeschool projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits, manipualtives, and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
