Credited as being among the first true cocktails, the Sazerac is a New Orleans original; one sip of its hazy, lusty character tells you everything you need to know about living the good life. This kit contains everything you need (minus the alcohol) to create this simple yet iconic classic cocktail: (1) 5 oz bottle Peychaud's bitters (1) 5 oz bottle Angostura bitters (2) Old-Fashioned Rocks glasses each with a 7 oz capacity (1) 12 oz bag India Tree European Style Brown Sugar Cubes and (1) 4"x4" recipe card printed on luxe 32pt paper with cherry red color insert. The official Sazerac cocktail recipe contains Peychaud's bitters only. However, many modern interpretations call for Angostura bitters as well because it really opens up the flavors. This kit contains both Peychaud's and Angostura so that you can play around with different recipes and decide for yourself what tastes best! Using a sugar cube is the more traditional way of making a Sazerac rather than simple syrup. These luscious cubes of unrefined brown sugar are imported from Mauritius, where 90% of the land devoted to agriculture is planted with sugar cane. Not only are they delicious in cocktails, but they add tremendous depth of flavor to coffee and tea as well.
