The Mini K47 is a large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone whose vintage tone comes from its capsule, which is modeled after the capsule in the most famous condenser mic ever made. Our K47 capsule captures a full, balanced sound with excellent midrange detail and no harshness in the upper frequencies. The circuit is transformerless, which is acoustically transparent, with very low noise and distortion. Circuit components were selected by ear: hand-matched NOS signal capacitors, vintage output transistors, audio-grade resistors, etc. Each Mini K47 is assembled and tested in California. We perform a 7-step QC process on each: testing for noise distortion, polarity/phase, microphonics, frequency response, sensitivity, and cosmetic finish. Every mic spends a minimum of 24 hours on our proprietary "burn-in" rack. Every mic undergoes audio sweep testing (20-20kHz swept sine wave) to ensure that it meets our strict performance specifications. The Mini K47 has a durable, heavy steel body. The "Cutaway" shockmount has a metal frame, and uses low-resonance O-rings for the suspension. (The Roswell Cutaway shockmount is immune to resonance problem common to "elastic" shockmounts.)Customers report great results using the Mini K47 on sources as diverse as vocals, piano, drum overheads, acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin, bass (electric and acoustic), electric guitar cab, dobro, and lap steel. We have been building a collection of demo videos that show the Mini K47 on drum overheads, piano, guitar (acoustic and electric), bass, and more; see the Roswell Pro Audio site or Youtube. Excerpts of some of these videos are available right here on Amazon. The Mini K47 is also available in hand-matched stereo pairs, for the best possible stereo imaging on drum overheads, piano, ensembles, etc. See Amazon item B07G9ZJNB4 or the Roswell website.
