RIKON's heavy duty power lathes are designed to handle large wood turning jobs with precision control and stability! The cast iron and steel construction reduces the vibration that can occur when turning large bowls, platters and columns. Electronic Variable Speed controls allow you to easily dial in spindle speeds while turning to provide the best cutting and finishing speeds for your project. In addition to their larger size, RIKON's power lathes also feature reversible spindle direction, 4" Ram travel, a 1-1/4" spindle diameter, and machined beds and matching components. Other standard features include all ball-bearing construction for smooth and precise spindle operation; digital RPM read-out that provides true operating spindle speed; adjustable cam-locking handles to ensure tool rest base and tailstock are security positioned; multiple indexing positions on the spindle to allow added details to be accurately and precicely added to your project; easily accessible headstock and base for drive belt changes on pulleys; and tail stocks self-eject so knock-out bars are not needed.
