Product Description Retirement in Florida - Manufactured Homes & The Land-Lease Option is the first modern book covering this unique and affordable retirement lifestyle. Every year thousands buy homes in these communities seeking resort class living at bargain prices. The most common lament heard at resident gatherings is "If I knew when I was buying what I know now, I would have made different choices". This book was written to explain the many facets of choosing a manufactured home community. The knowledge it contains will empower you to determine if this lifestyle meets your needs and, if it does, select a community which fits your idea of retirement living. Making the right choices can easily save you thousands of dollars and a lot of disappointment. More importantly, it can make your retirement dream come true. From the Author I wrote this book after years of interacting with residents in land-lease communities across the state. Most liked the lifestyle but wished they had been more informed in their choices. Seeking affordable retirement, many moved in to overpriced parks or found that appearances can sometimes hide a troubled community. Some simply move again, armed with what they had learned; others were stuck with their situation. It's easy to see the park's appearance but, unless you know how to look, it is difficult to know the nature of its community. Also, there was nothing out there explaining the rights and obligations inherent to buying in a land-lease manufactured home park. Not all deals are the same and it's buyer beware. I recalled the study I undertook prior to my first cruise and how helpful the guides were in deciding which ship and what itinerary suited our dreams. I thought there should be something similar for a financial decision so important as the choice of an affordable retirement community. From the Back Cover Make the Right Choice for You! Do you seek a resort living lifestyle in a friendly community? Does your dream include a choice between a range of daily activities or just a quiet morning by the pool? Looking for security, support, and like-minded neighbors? Every year thousands of retirees buy homes in land-lease parks. It can be an affordable path to fulfill your retirement dream. The options are many, not all deals are the same, and it is a decision you plan to live with for many years. Time spent now, considering the alternatives, can help insure you reach your retirement goals and avoid costly mistakes.
