Poetry from a Prisoner's Pencil is a compilation of poems that I wrote over a nine year course of time spent in and out of correctional institutions. These poems express rage, sorrow, fear and madness. Allow me to take you into the world of a mother who has been separated from her six small children and faced with time for committing bank robberies and her battle with addictions. Not only do these poems reflect my feelings, but they also tell a story. A story of other women in the Federal Penitentiary who had committed gruesome, horrific crimes. Allow me take you to a dark place...the darkest place on earth...prison.
