About Pitsco TETRIX Tank Tread Kit

The Pitsco 36468 TETRIX Tank Tread Kit includes polyoxymethylene (POM) tank tread chain links and component parts to build 6-1/2 feet of tank tread or conveyor belts for students in grades 9-12 building TETRIX robotics projects. The 36460 TETRIX Tank Tread Chain Links are made of durable POM. The links snap together for user ease and can be separated for reuse in other projects. Each link measures 8mm x 40mm (W x D). (W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) Additional parts including wheels, sprockets, axles, and bushings allow students to attach completed tank treads to a robot for even weight distribution, traction, and stability. The nylon wheels provide rolling support, and the 20-tooth nylon sprockets provide the drive system for tank treads. The kit comes with 36462 TETRIX Tank Tread Idler Wheels, 39065 TETRIX 32mm Channels, 36461 TETRIX Tank Tread Sprockets, 39091 TETRIX Bronze Bushings, 39100 TETRIX 1/8-inch Axle Spacers, 39092 TETRIX Axle Set Collars, and 39088 TETRIX 100mm Axles. TETRIX products reinforce science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts for students in grades 9-12 studying robotics and building a working robot that demonstrates engineering, simple machines, force, and Newton's laws of motion. Tank tread chain links, wheels, axles, and sprockets can be used in an educational setting to build a robotics project, among other mechanical robotic applications.Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in
