CORRECT PLUS: Supination and pronation are normal parts of the walking and running motion cycle of the foot. However, over-supination (sometimes evident by having "bow legs", or if the foot rolls outwards), or over-pronation, can cause problems throughout the body. Correct Plus is a 3/4 length orthotic that helps correct over-supination. To tell if you over-supinate, look at the soles of your shoes. Are the soles worn on the outside more than the inside? If so, you probably over-supinate. Or you can try this: wet your foot and stand on a piece of paper. If your feet are normal, you should see a forefoot and heel mark and a connecting line that is about 1/2 the width of your foot. If you see a narrower line, or even no connecting line, then your foot over-supinates. Over-supination can contribute to developing plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, shin splints, stress fractures, and ankle, knee, and hip strains. Because over-supination is a biomechanical problem, wearing an orthotic foot bed, such as Pedag Correct or Correct Plus, can be very helpful. Correct Plus gently shifts your foot back into correct alignment and helps to bring the standing, walking, or running motion of your foot back to normal.
