his beautiful rainbow dent corn was bred Dave Christensen of Montana over many years. He crossed more than 50 strains grown by homesteaders and Native Americans in harsh climates. Painted Mountain germinates easily in colder soils and is ready to harvest much sooner than modern hybrids. And it's gorgeous. Painted Mountain is edible when very young, but is nothing like fresh sweet corn. Though many seed companies claim it's delicious, there's plenty of yellow corn around to eat. Save this beauty to look at. It will retain its lovely random colors in a basket or on a wreath for many moons. And you can always save some to plant.25 seeds
