The platinum pure difference – lfgb European grade & platinum cured made with 100% premium lfgb European grade food, safe baby silicone. Most competing brands follow less strict FDA standards, which allows for use of fillers, and even formaldehyde. One way to test for fillers in silicone is the pinch test. Pinch, stretch, and twist the silicone – if it turns white it has fillers. Our silicone bibs will pass the pinch test because they contain only 100% pure silicone. Lfgb silicone is much more costly than FDA because lfgb doesn't allow any fillers. Our competitors also use a less complex and cheaper curing process, which leaves chemical residues in the silicone bib, including acid byproducts and polychlorinated biphenyls (pcbs). These chemical residues can off-gas and leach into food and onto skin, especially as the silicone breaks down with use. Unlike most silicone products, our silicone bibs follow a platinum curing process - a much more complex (and more costly) method than the common silicone available throughout the market. Our process results in no chemical by-products and a silicone bib that is much more durable than common silicone. Our silicone baby bibs are platinum cured, which is a more expensive and complex process but creates absolutely no chemical by-products. Our silicone bibs have no BPA, bps, PVC, phthalates, lead, cadmium, formaldehyde, or other nasty toxins and are also completely odorless and hypoallergenic. As parents and scientists who have spent countless hours researching and worrying about the safety and composition of what we put on and in our children, we aren't okay with "good enough" when it comes to making sure our children are not exposed to any dangerous toxins. That’s why we insist on all of our products being both lfgb grade and platinum cured. Both of these standards are more costly to produce, but this ensures our products are the safest on the market.
