The Swiss Water Method uses solely water and osmosis to decaffeinate beans. Using water as a solvent to decaffeinate coffee was originally pioneered in Switzerland in 1933 and developed as a commercially viable method of decaffeination by Coffex S.A. in 1980. The Swiss Water Process involves soaking the green coffee in water, dissolving the caffeine and other soluble components then, returning flavor components to the green coffee once the caffeine has been removed from the solution. Coffee must be fresh so you can enjoy its wonderful aroma and flavor. We small batch roast our coffee and replenish Amazon weekly to give you the freshest coffee available. We package our coffee in the highest quality three layered aluminum bag with a one way freshness valve.
