About the Author Jim Argo worked for two Texas newspapers before moving to Oklahoma City and the largest state newspaper, The Daily Oklahoman, and its sister publication, the Oklahoma City Times, in 1963. His freelance assignments have included major news magazines, including Business Week, Newsweek, Time, and National Geographic. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 1997. An Oklahoma native, John Elk III is a travel stock photographer who manages a constantly growing library of 300,000 images from around the world. His photography regularly appears in Oklahoma Today, where he is a contributing editor. R. E. Lindsey has been photographing Oklahoma most of his life. His images have appeared in Department of Tourism material, calendars, postcards, travel books, magazine articles on Oklahoma, and in gourmet food magazines.
