The Nalgene clear polymethylpentene (PMP) round, Griffin-style, low-form, tapered beaker with silk-screened graduations (mL) comes in a variety of sizes (30-, 50-, 100-, 150-, 250-, 400-, 600-, 1000-, 2000-, 4000-mL). This PMP plastic beaker is autoclavable, has a pour spout, marking area, and silk-screened catalog number, size code, resin code, maximum use temperature, and "no flame'' symbol. It conforms to ISO/DIS 7056 International Standards for Laboratory Plasticware Beakers and withstands continuous temperatures to 150 degrees C and intermittent temperatures to 175 degrees C. This beaker is not for use on a hotplate. PMP is transparent, resists moisture and most chemicals, and has a high melting point. It has high impact resistance and is a good electrical insulator. It is often used for autoclavable labware as well as microwave components, gas-permeable packaging, and cookware. Beakers are used for measurement, quality testing, sampling, and research, and in lab applications in chemistry, education, research, and life science applications.
