The Montegrappa Fortuna collection got its name from the Goddess of Fortune. According to the ancient Romans, Fortuna was the personification of luck. Fortuna's identity was closely tied to virtus (virtue) which meant strength of character. Public officials who lacked virtue invited ill-fortune on both themselves and Rome. Montegrappa believes that luck is unquestionably linked to virtue, while education is the foundation onto which individuals develop their innate talents. Montegrappa also believes that hand-writing is an essential element of the education process and an indispensable function.
