About Mitutoyo 536-121 Vernier Caliper, Stainless

The Mitutoyo 536-121 offset centerline vernier caliper performs precise measurements to within 0.05 mm, for applications where the highest accuracy is required, especially in scientific research and in industries where parts must fit exactly. This caliper’s narrow jaw tips can access small grooves and tracks, making hard to reach outside measurements easier to obtain. The vernier caliper has a fixed (main) scale and a movable (vernier) scale. The vernier scale moves over the main scale rule to give a fractional measurement which is added to the measurement of the main scale to achieve a more accurate result. The main scale may be marked in inches, millimeters, or both. The vernier scale may be marked in inches or millimeters. A thumbwheel permits fast measuring and a rotating screw controls the caliper’s movement. The 536-121 measures in metric units. The vernier scale graduation is 0.05 mm. The scales are raised to slide easily and protect the graduation markings. A thumbwheel permits fast and easy measuring. A clamping screw rotates to control scale movement and locks to hold the sliding jaw’s position. The caliper weighs 150 g and is made of hardened stainless steel construction with a satin chrome finish. With its narrow tip jaws, the caliper can reach into hard to access grooves and indentations. Model 536-121 comes with depth bar. It has a main scale length of 229 mm, a lower jaw depth of 40 mm, a upper jaw length of 21.5 mm, a beam width of 16 mm, and a forward lower jaw tip thickness of 0.3 mm. Range is 0 - 150 mm is 0.05 mm, and Accuracy is rated at + or - 0.05 mm, which meets Federal Accuracy Specifications GGG-C-111B. Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. They make inside, outside, depth, or step measurements, according to their type. Calipers are commonly used in architecture, metalworking, mechanical engineering, machining, manufacturing, carpentry, and medicine. The simplest calipers have t
