The story behind the tale: Julia was born with Biliary Atresia, a rare liver disease that affects one in ten thousand babies born in the USA. At only 7 months old, Julia received a life-saving liver transplant from a living donor—her mother. This book is based on Julia's transplant journey. It is dedicated to all the resilient children like Julia who had to fight for their lives and to the organ donors who give others a second chance in the most selfless way possible.
