Product Description JINGLE CATS 'MEOWY CHRISTMAS CD AND CASSETTE: The world's first album of songs sung by real cats. A phenomenon! This is the album that started it all. Seen on television ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and in newspapers, such as the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and magazines such as CATS Magazine and People Magazine. The Jingle Cats album brought cat fanciers a roaringly funny album which speaks to humans and cats! Warning: listeners have reported losing control of their cars while listening to this album. The #1 requested Christmas album for radio stations nationwide, the #1 Christmas novelty album and Tower Records #1 selling Christmas CD in 1993, and a ranking in Billboard's Top 10 Holiday Album List for 1994. Amazon.com When wrote "Joy to the World," which contains the immortal line "Let heaven and nature sing," he probably didn't mean it literally. But Meowy Christmas takes him at his word as Cheese Puff, Max, Sprocket, Binky, Clara, Cueball, Graymer, Twizzler, Petunia--and the occasional dog--meow and bark and let their animal nature sing 20 (count 'em 20!) holiday favorites. You'll be awestruck, dumbstruck, and struck yet again hearing these felines "sing" and, ah, scat their way through the usual round-up of holiday music, relying on a beat box and different arrangements, including a folkish, harmonica-driven version of the Handel hymn. You're bound to find your own favorites here (while trying to figure out how in the heck mastermind Mike Spalla pulled this off), but you're definitely bound to be roused from your comfort and joy by "What Child Is This/Hava Nagila" that trades kitty meows and doggy barks back and forth in a spirited ecumenical dance of the four-legged. The disc comes with an order form for its own line of Jingle Cats merchandise. --Martin Keller About the Artist THE JINGLE CATS LEGEND A long time ago, in the frosty North Pole, nine little kittens were born on Christmas Eve at Santa's House. Mrs. Claus found them wrapped in a tiny bundle on her front porch. The mother of these kittens was nowhere to be found. Mrs. Claus brought them in the house and gave them a saucer of milk. The hungry little kittens drank the milk and fell asleep next to the fireplace. At first, the Elves were afraid of the kittens. They thought that they were baby lions. But Mrs. Claus assured the Elves that the kittens were harmless. When Santa came home from his journey delivering toys to all the good children, he was so overjoyed at the sight of the cute little kittens he decided to celebrate by listening to one of his favorite Christmas albums. Then, an amazing thing occurred. The kittens began meowing along with the melodies of the songs that were playing. Now with each toy making season, they entertain the Elves with their beautiful singing and playful antics. Many people believe this is why the kittens sing so well. And to this day, if you listen carefully outside your door on Christmas Eve, you might hear the sound of the Jingle Cats ringing through the neighborhood as every year, they ride high above the rooftops with Santa in his sleigh. You may find your own kitty singing along. If you look in your kitty's eyes he might wink at you to let you know that he, too, has heard the enchanting sound of the Jingle Cats. Merry Christmas, Every One!
