I couldn't speak Italian and understood very little. Last year I traveled to Italy on a solo adventure for three months, and it was the experience of a lifetime. I knew it would take a book to write about all the people I met along the way, everything I saw and did, and how this wonderful experience had changed my life. About the Author Margie Miklas is a writer, photographer, and and recently retired critical-care nurse, who has a passion for travel, with a particular love of Italy. She writes travel articles for several websites as well as a monthly newspaper, La Gazzetta Italiana. Memoirs of a Solo Traveler - My Love Affair with Italy is Margie's first book and it is based on her three month soloadventure in Italy. Honored with a Royal Palm Literary Award by the Florida Writers Association. She is the also author of My Love Affair with Sicily and Colors of Naples and the Amalfi Coast, which capturesMargie's perspective in images and words. Her first novel, Critical Cover-Up, a psychological thriller, was published in 2017 and was awarded finalist status by Book Excellence Awards. Margie writes a blog, Margie in Italy, where you can follow her adventures throughout Italy. Her latest work, My Amalfi Coast Love Affair, is expected to be available in October of 2018. Margie lives in Florida butshe is always seeking out opportunities to travel.
