About Megger 569001-KIT Ultrasonic Leak And Corona

The Megger 569001-KIT ultrasonic leak and corona detector senses pressurized leaking gas and detects electrical corona discharge around conductors in electrical testing, automotive, power utility, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) applications. Pressurized gas leaks and electrical corona discharges emit ultrasonic frequencies, and the leak detector's transducer probe converts these frequencies to an audible range that can be heard through the receiver's speaker or the included headset. The presence of airborne contaminants, such as refrigerants, wind, or audible ambient noise does not affect its operation. The detector comes with a directional horn that attaches to the probe to amplify the detected signal, allowing measurements to be taken at a distance and improving leak detection in noisy areas. It also comes with a rubber sound concentrator that can be attached to the probe and held against a surface where a leak is suspected to locate small leak sources. A 10-unit linear scale on the receiver indicates when the sensor is close to the source of the leak. The Megger 569001-KIT ultrasonic leak and corona detector comes with a padded leather carrying case that helps protect the unit from damage during transportation and storage.SpecificationsOperating temperature0 to 43 degrees Celsius/32 to 110 degrees FahrenheitFrequency response35 to 45 kilohertzPower supply9V battery (two, included)Weight, with case and attachments5.5 lb./2.5 kgCase dimensions12.0 x 17.0 x 5.0 inches/305 x 432 x 127 mm (H x W x D)H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distan
