About Maple Lumber Board (S4S), Solid, Hardwood - 12 In X
12" x 12" x 1" section of hard maple sapwood that is finished on four sides (S4S). A versatile wood section designed for use in various crafting activities, flooring, home improvement, veneer, cutting boards, butcher blocks, workbenches, baseball bats and turned objects. Easy to work with both hand and machine tools. Turns, glues and finishes well. Stains well. Pre-conditioner, gel stain, or toner may be necessary to achieve even coloring. Rated as non-durable to perishable. Ranges from nearly white to an off-white cream color with reddish or golden hue. Generally straight grain but may be wavy. Fine, even texture. Wood grain and color may vary from images. Requires sanding sealer coat prior to staining. Milled size, after smoothing, is 0.75" x 11.25".
