The visible tenuous undulating grain on the blade was resulted from folded repeatedly during forging. A special clay is applied to the blade by hand, using a thin covering near the edge and a thicker layer over the rest of the blade. This results in a relatively quicker cooling of the edge during quenching, producing a harder edge and softer back. The beautiful real hamon is also a result of the differential cooling of the blade (quenching and tempering). Two seppas spacers secure the Tsuba. The Habaki (blade collar) is of brass composition. This Saya (sheath) of the sword is Hard wooden and lacquered black to match the black ray skin perfectly. The Sage-O is tied around the Kurikata (knob) (made of OX horn) of the saya, the Koiguchi (scabbard mouth) (made of OX horn) and Kojiri (scabbard tip) (made of OX horn) has been hardened. Notice: 1.
