This saya is hard wooden and inlayed with shell and later lacquered with a beautiful decorative pattern on it, the Sage-O is tied around the ox horn Kurikata (knob) of the saya, the ox horn Koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and Kojiri (scabbard tip) has been hardened to tighten the hardness of the saya.
