The visible tenuous undulating grain on the blade was resulted from folded repeatedly during forging. A special clay is applied to the blade by hand, using a thin covering near the edge and a thicker layer over the rest of the blade. This results in a relatively quicker cooling of the edge during quenching, producing a harder edge and softer back. The beautiful real hamon is also a result of the differential cooling of the blade (quenching and tempering). Two seppas spacer secure the Tsuba. The Habaki (blade collar) is of brass composition. This Tsuka is wooden one wrapped with genuine ray skin, and tied with real silk ITO in the Katatemaki wrap. This Saya (sheath) of the sword is Hard wood. The Sage-O is tied around the Kurikata (knob) of the saya, the Koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and Kojiri (scabbard tip) has been hardened. Notice: 1. The sword is attached with saya and free silk bag. 2. Box and stand are not included.
