Celebrate stovetop coffee in style - the traditional method of preparing coffee in the Italian home. These beautiful Moka pots are designed, produced and finished in Italy using top-quality materials such as: an aluminum alloy body, stainless steel internal filter offering higher heat and pressure resistance, a silicone gasket which ensures safety and durability and certified high-temperature-resistant paints and treatments. The steel filter allows the coffee to flow with less pressure and heat, improving the quality and taste of the coffee. What is a Moka Coffee? While they sound similar, in Italy, ordering a Caffe Moka is quite different from a Mocha in the US. Moka pots were invented in 1930s Italy. The name refers to the city of Mocha, Yemen, for many centuries a center of coffee excellence. These small, two-chambered coffee makers sit on many Italian stovetops, producing a full-bodied aromatic coffee – with no chocolate syrup in sight. How do you prepare Moka Coffee? Fill the lower chamber of the coffee pot with water up to the valve. Insert the filter and add the ground moka coffee, fill it completely without packing the coffee down. Screw the top chamber onto the base and place it on the stove over low heat. Remove the pot from the heat when you hear it begin to gurgle, just as the coffee begins to boil and starts to rise. Mix the coffee with a teaspoon and pour into the cup to enjoy.
