Product Description Introducing Little Explorers-a new, interactive nonfiction series for curious youngsters. With more than 60 flaps to lift, MY AMAZING BODY provides little ones with hands-on fun.MY AMAZING BODY is a lively introduction to the human body, where children can lift the flaps to find out what goes on under their skin. Young readers will be amazed as they find out how the brain works, what happens to a mouthful of food, how fast our fingernails grow, how we breathe, and much, much more. This book features over 60 sturdy flaps to lift, along with charming, kid-friendly artwork that introduces new concepts and vocabulary in a simple and accessible way. From School Library Journal K-Gr 3—Filled with details, these lift-the-flap titles cover familiar territory: the human body and vehicles. These slightly oversize board books feature much more information written at a higher level than most offerings in this format ("Trolleys are powered by electricity from overhead wires all along the route."). My Amazing Body lets readers know that though we are all different, ultimately we have many similarities. The book devotes a spread to various questions ("Where Did I Come From?"; "Where Does My Food Go?"). On the Move uses a similar presentation, with a different set of vehicles ("Trains and Trolleys," "Trucks and Vans") for each spread. The cartoonish illustrations are detailed and for the most part realistic, though a bit dull. The design of Move is a little less busy than that of Body and the labeling more useful. The material here is fairly straightforward ("Your two eyes let you see what is happening around you.") and should interest readers, particularly On the Move.
