About Laxco Alpha-1102M Visible-Light

The Laxco Alpha-1102M visible-light spectrophotometer has a manually-adjustable 325 to 1000nm wavelength range, a 5nm spectral bandwidth, and a halogen lamp, and is used for routine testing and teaching laboratory applications. The instrument provides direct measurement of routine absorbance and transmittance measurements, and stores up 200 test points. The 5.0nm bandwidth is used for quality control measurements when high resolution is not required. The halogen lamp and single detector support measurements in the visible range. The instrument has a single-cuvette sample holder. The digital display indicates transmittance and absorbance measurements, and USB and RS-232 ports provide data output to a computer (sold separately). Specifications Beam geometry Single-beam, 1200 lines/nm grating Wavelength range 325 to 1000nm Photometric range - 0.3 to +2.5A; 0 to 200% T; -9999 to +9999 C Wavelength accuracy + or - 2nm Wavelength reproducibility + or - 1nm Spectral bandwidth 5nm Light source Halogen Preprogrammed methods Absorbance and transmittance Data export USB, RS-232 Dimensions 165 x 340 x 455mm (H x W x D) Power requirements 85/240VAC, 50/60Hz, 50VA H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. A spectrophotometer is a device used to measure and analyze aspects of light absorption in liquids and solids. Readings are displayed in digital or analog format. A spectrophotometer can have a handheld body for field use, or a bench-top body for laboratory applications. It may have one or more adapters to enable it to measure surfaces or liquids. A spectrophotometer is used for testing and measuring in anatomy, chemistry, agriculture, process plant, food and beverage making, homeland security, and educational applications.
