Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or to excessive heat. The shelf life is 12 months packed as bulk and 36 months in a packaged container. The green to gray-green colored, oblong-laceolate leaves, covered with fine short hairs (furry or wooly appearance), shall possess a strong, fragrant and aromatic odor relatively free of any camphoraceous note, and free of objectionable terebinthic odor. Whole Sage shall be made of the true vegetable substance from which no portion of its volatile constituents has been exhausted. Product shall be free of defects and decay and shall comply in every respect with the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
