The Kimble Chase 40A502 Microhematocrit (capillary) tube is for holding and separating blood samples as part of the measurement of the volume percentage of red blood cells. It is constructed of soda-lime glass for heat, shock, and thermal expansion resistance. The ends of the tube may be sealed by flame or sealing clay (sold separately) for centrifugation. There is a blue color strip near one end of the tube for visibility. The tube comes packed in a plastic vial of 100 tubes, with 12 vials to a case, for a total of 1,200 tubes.
