A heel support structure secures the heel firmly in place to prevent slippage and consequential blistering. The sandal's primary cushioning ability is derived from a dual density, compression-moulded EVA midsole compound that absorbs the brunt of the initial heelstrike phase of the gait whilst simultaneously attenuating shockwaves as it transitions forwards towards the toe off phase. A removable, metatomical EVA footbed adheres to the contours of the foot for an adaptive lockdown whilst a secure fit lace capture system also works to deliver confidence-inspiring security. This all sits atop a durable, non-marking and aggressively appointed outsole that boasts a series of 4mm, multi-directional lugs that yield comprehensive grip and traction on a range of surfaces. Torsional stability is afforded by an ESS stability shank that prevents the shoe from twisting throughout the midfoot, particularly useful on the rugged, uneven terrain this sandal is likely to be expected to perform on.
