About Hock Burnisher - Tool Steel Rod 3/8" X
Hock burnishers are hardened (Rc64) and polished tool-steel rods that stand up well to constant use on scraper edges. Many others are not hard enough for this demanding application. High carbon steel Burnishers are necessary tools for maintaining cabinet scrapers. After the scraper has been filed square with a mill file and fine sharpening stone, this hardened steel bladed tool turns over the thin cutting edge to form a burr which makes scrapers work effectively.
