Three boys are intrigued by the mysterious history of a 1963 Volkswagen bus. They learn the classic VW was seized in 1972 by the U.S. government, and auctioned off. Searching through the bus, which is a camper version fitted with sink and beds, they discover a rare concert ticket lodged under the dashboard. It is an unused ticket from the Beatles’ first U.S. concert in America, held in Washington D.C. on February 11th, 1964. They decide to cash in on their find by posting the ticket for sale on eBay. Only then do they start to learn the story of how the bus played an important part in pop culture history. February 11th, 2014 is the 50th anniversary of that historic concert. The book also commemorates the end of the production of the Volkswagen bus, a beloved symbol worldwide for over sixty years.
