How to use 1. Fill a bucket or a pot about 4 inches with water. Enough to submerge the probe. 2. Take the cap with the tube off the "cone" piece of the probe. 3. Submerge BOTH pieces in the water, completely. You should see bubbles come out. 4. WHILE STILL UNDERWATER, put the cap back on the cone piece. 5. Cover the open end of the cube with finger and remove probe from water. 6. Stick cone piece a little bit into the soil of plan. 7. Stick open end of tube into the BOTTOM of a water bottle or jug. It must be well submerged in the water. Issues you may have: 1. Too much water. Move the water bottle/jug a bit lower in height relative to the cone part. This will increase resistance and slow the flow. 2. Not working at all. You did not (a) fully submerge both pieces in water like in above steps or (b) the end of the tube is not low enough in the water jug. you cannot just stick it in the top or it will not work. Issues you might have: 1. Probe waters too much. Just remove cone from soil and stick only the tip into the soil. This will reduce the flow of water drawn from the probe. 2. Probe does not water at all. You did not (a) fully submerge both pieces in water like in above steps, or (b) the end of the tube is not deep enough in water.
