It uses any conveniently located air vent in your vehicle instead of the more permanent dashboard or windshield mounting methods. Unlike other vent mount products, CommuteMate's will not require frequent replacing since it secures to the vent using a metal hook which remains strong and prevents breaking even under the extreme hot/cold temperatures in the vent. In addition, you don't have to force your phone in or out of the spring-loaded holster since a simple button push causes the holster to slowly open, allowing removal of your phone or device, and a simple squeeze secures your phone in place.
