Harper is a strong little girl who was diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer called Retinoblastoma at 18 months of age. This cancer usually develops in early childhood, typically before the age of 5 and rapidly develops from the immature cells of a retina, the light detecting tissue of the eye. It is the most common primary malignant intraocular cancer in children. Due to the size and circumstances of Harper tumor, she had to have her eye enucleated (removed) 4 days before Christmas 2017. They found evidence that the tumor had started to escape out of the back of her eyeball, so a few days before New Years, she began chemotherapy treatment. If all goes as planned, she will have her final round of chemo at the end of May.
