PIZZA STEEL OVERVIEW The whole concept behind cooking with a pizza steel is so that you can use more than just the hot air in your home oven or BBQ to cook the pizza. You will be using the heat from the pizza steel to make the crust absolutely delicious. Pizza steels work better than pizza stones because they conduct 20x more heat and will not break under high temperatures. HOW TO USE PIZZA STEEL Start off by getting the pizza steel seasoned. Clean the pizza steel with warm water and a sponge. Put a light coat of your preferred oil on the top surface of the pizza steel. We mostly use canola oil. Place the pizza steel into your oven at 400 degrees for about 1 hour. After the pizza steel is seasoned, you are ready for pizza-making. Before you cook your pizza, be sure to preheat the pizza steel in your oven at 400 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. After the pizza steel becomes hot, you are ready to bake a nice pizza at home!
