The camera also makes a great dash camera. Night vision cameras need an infrared light source to "see" or film in the dark. The camera comes with accessories including an infrared illuminator light, and bracket arm. (Be advised that humans cannot see infrared light and when using the infrared light unit, it can only come on in darkness as there is a sensor on the light. User will see the LEDs emitting a faint red glow when the light is on. The camera will be able to see in the darkness with the light turned on.) .
