Review I had absolutely NO intention whatsoever to read the whole book from beginning to end in one sitting. I could not help myself. It is THAT good! I simply cannot express with words how great this is. I forgot I was reading YOUR book and immediately started musing and picturing things for my landscape. Laughing hard....I even jotted down quite a few ideas I hadn't even thought of!! For instance (I can't help but tell you this one because it's been bugging me since we moved here and I never figured out what to do), Toward the beginning of your book, there was a picture and an wonderful line about rigid stone lines and softening it up with planting that soften the lines. I have a spot where the straight straight concrete driveway meets the straight paved sidewalk 90 degree angle. I always thought it looked so boring and didn't really know what to do. EUREKA! I am going to carve out that interior and do plantings that will overflow and soften that sharpness... LOL, not sure what yet BUT, YOU SOLVED MY QUANDARY!! So, without even thinking about critiquing your book - I was sucked in and have notes for MYSELF! And then I'm thinking, wait. That is exactly what makes a great book. This is absolutely fantastic, John. It deals with EVERY single aspect from color to texture to "math" to how to approximate your seating area with room to pull out chairs and.. thank GOD - realizing that plants GROW and to account for that. And seasonal color and climate. It's simply a marvelous read, guide and reference. I sincerely LOVE this book, John. I am keeping it on my computer to reference. When your book comes out I am getting one for me and some folks in my garden club and my sister who is just starting out. WOW!! Love, Sincerely and "not blowing smoke", Lisa p.s. and the pics are perfect for the text!! I just love it. What a great resource for designers. I can't wait for its release.
