The Fowler 52-248 series outside micrometer has a flat anvil/spindle pair with a choice of measuring range and 0.01mm graduations for general purpose measuring. The Vernier scale has 0.01mm graduations and an accuracy of 0.001mm for precise readings and accurate measurements. The anvil/spindle pair has a 6.5mm diameter, 0.00076mm flatness, and 0.000125mm parallelism on the 0 to 25mm micrometer for accurate measurements. Hardened, ground, and micro-lapped measuring faces provide wear resistance. The hardened, ground, and lapped spindle thread provides smooth movement, accuracy, and long life. Friction thimble applies constant force for repeatability between users.
